Our bariatric surgery program

We have two very skilled and well-known weight loss surgeons in our practice that work with the most up-to-date bariatric procedures. Our surgeons meet with every patient to help them decide if they should consider surgery and what procedure is the best for them. This decision depends on whether you are overweight, obese or morbidly obese. Our bariatric surgery specialists determine which of these categories you fall into based on your Body Mass Index (BMI). Your BMI is calculated from both your weight and height. We work very closely with the JFK Bariatric Surgical Center which is located next door to our main office.

Minimally invasive surgery

There are many benefits to choosing minimally invasive surgery over traditional surgery. The method of choice for surgeons and patients has shifted from traditional “open surgery” to less invasive means. The good news for patients, surgeons and facilities as it often means less pain, shorter hospital stays, lower risk of infection, quicker return to normal activities, less scarring and reduced costs for patients.
