Bland Eng named chief development officer
HCA Healthcare West Florida Division announces the appointment of Bland Eng as the HCA Healthcare West Florida Division chief development officer.
TAMPA, FL — HCA Healthcare West Florida Division announces the appointment of Bland Eng as the HCA Healthcare West Florida Division chief development officer. Eng has served as the chief executive officer for HCA Florida Brandon Hospital for the past ten years and will move into this newly created position on June 1, 2022. His early focus will be to lead HCA Florida Healthcare’s expansion into southwest Florida, which includes the recently announced construction of a $251 million hospital in Fort Myers.
“Bland is a highly respected and seasoned leader with a deep knowledge of Fort Myers and southwest Florida,” explained Tim Burroughs, chief administrative officer for the division. “Under his leadership Brandon has evolved into a major 436-bed tertiary hospital serving families with one of the largest obstetrics, pediatrics, heart, and comprehensive stroke programs in Hillsborough County. In addition, his outreach includes five freestanding emergency rooms located in some of the fastest growing communities in the county and southern Lakeland.”
Bland started his career in 1995 with HCA Affiliate, Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center in Fort Myers while completing his Administrative Residency at the University of Florida in Healthcare Administration earning a Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Sciences. Over the past 26 years, Bland served as the chief operating officer (COO) and Interim CEO at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital; COO at HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital; CEO at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital and CEO at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital.
Bland serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce and Brandon (Angel) Foundation. Nationally, Bland serves on the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board 4 and recently completed two terms on the HCA Hope Fund Board of Directors. Bland is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and currently resides in Lithia with his daughter Ava and his son Brandon attends Florida State University.
