When Tina Johns visited her primary care provider at Ocala Primary Care, it had been several years since she had undergone a mammogram. Upon the advice of her provider, she was scheduled at Advanced Imaging for a screening mammogram which required additional follow up tests. A diagnostic biopsy confirmed a cancer diagnosis and Tina was immediately plugged in with both Ocala Health Breast Cancer Nurse Navigator Michelle Sawdon and Ocala Surgical Group surgeon George Rossidis. With solid family support, a team of health care providers and a strong determination, Tina conquered surgery and chemotherapy treatment. "Everyone at Ocala Health has been great. Michelle and Dr. Rossidis have been a huge help and have made me feel very comfortable." Tina's positivity is as contagious as her vibrant smile. Her story emphasizes the importance of early detection and treatment.
